Graphite

SERIES

" Raw materials) "

“Here natural, solid or ephemeral materials are chosen for their curves and geometry and each image is worked with the aim of obtaining a “Graphite” rendering. By knowingly giving a “harder” aspect to the image, the photographer nourishes the hope of bringing out the depth of soul. The traces left by time offer endless possibilities. A place (seafront, mountain, countryside, city, etc.) is above all an area of permanent discovery. The rock on the seafront shaped by the tides, the snow swept by the wind, the cold and the sun, the earth shaped by time and man, the water in perpetual motion are thus transfigured by the image and inspiration.

Little by little, the rather harsh rendering of the first photos in the series fades to take on a lighter and luminous appearance. Here, no search for mimicry, just the material, strong, dense, timeless, the words behind things and the soul beyond the raw material. »

Nathalie Faure

A word from the photographer

I look for natural, solid or ephemeral materials and I work on each image so that it has a rendering that I call "Graphite" allowing me to give a more "hard" aspect to this image and to make it, sometimes, bring out another soul. It can be snow, water, rock, sand depending on the place and the inspiration I transform (or not) these materials through the image. Little by little, the rather harsh rendering of the first photos in this series fades to achieve a lighter and more luminous appearance.

The traces left by time offer the photographer endless possibilities. A place (seafront, mountain, countryside, city, etc.) is an area of permanent discovery. The rock on the seafront shaped by the tides, the snow by the wind, the cold and the sun, the earth by time and man, the water in motion too. Here, no search for mimicry, just the material, strong, dense, timeless.
